Intro Video for 2009 CSTS
Here is the Kids Need to Read promo starring Nathan Fillion that was part of the 2009 Can’t Stop the Serenity video. It was uploaded to YouTube by Kids Need to Read (not me!) so enjoy.
Event Date For 2010 Announced
Mark the date!
This year we are going to hold the Can’t Stop the Serenity event for Equality Now on a weekday night!
Please mark your calendars for Thursday, June 24, 2010. Exact time to be announced soon.
It is only a couple of months away, keep checking back for ticket, T-Shirt and prize updates.
Previous Donations To Equality Now
We thought you might like to see a snapshot of previous events and donations to Equality Now from earlier Can’t Stop The Serenity Events. According to the global site, Des Moines contributions were:
2007:$1,055.00
2008:$ 491.60
2009: $1,286.76
I don’t have any details for the 2006 screenings, so Im not sure if Des Moines actually participated or not. 2008 was devastating for the area due to flooding around the state. Many cities were hurt hard, and turnout plus donations were low as a result.
But we are still here, and we are mighty. Please come and support the 2010 Can’t Stop The Serenity Des Moines event on June 24th and show that we are all heroes. Together we can beat the 2009 number, and show Des Moines cares about Equality in the world.
After all, fans got a movie produced about a canceled TV show. Surely we can raise some money for a good cause.
See you there!
Everything is officially “in the black!”
We are please to announce that our event is officially “in the black” and that from this point forward, each and every dollar donated in any way goes to support Equality Now.
Thank you to our generous sponsors for helping us reach this point even BEFORE our event. We definitely have some shiny business in Des Moines, and we are amazed at the support we have received.
We are excited to see everybody this Saturday, please bring your excitement and your own generosity to help make the event a great success!

Deadline for Poster and T-Shirts
The deadline for ordering posters and T-Shirts has now PASSED. We will have a very limited selection of T-Shirts (XL and 2XL) and posters available at the event.
T-Shirts Unveiled and Available
The 2009 Can’t Stop the Serenity T-Shirts feature the 2009 logo and a list of cities screening “Serenity” on the back. The deadline for T-Shirt ordering has passed, but we will have a limited amount of shirts available for purchase at the event itself.
Door Prizes
Just like last year, we will be having some fabulous shiny door prizes to give away before the screening. Plus there will be plenty of weighted auction items we reckon there’ll be mighty fine interest in. Keep checking back for more updates as we get closer to the event!
Sponsors
Sponsors make the “word” go round and we are ever so grateful to the fine list of folks who are helping to make the Des Moines Can’t Stop The Serenity event a success. If you would like to contribute through either a gift certificate for door prizes, or monetarily to help defray the costs of producing the event itself (so more funds go towards charity) – please send us an email and we will get back to you very quickly.
