Prizes are divided into several different categories:  Door prizes, Silent Auctions, and the Global Prize Drawings

Global Prize Drawings

Every attendee of Can’t Stop The Serenity Des Moines will receive an entry ballot to qualify for one (1) Global Prize Drawing item.   The winners will be sent along to the Global Team who will then pick the Grand Prize Winners.

The global prizes are:

• A custom made Serenity glass plate signed by Jewel Staite, Gina Torres, Summer Glau and Adam Baldwin, donated by Tami Lankford
• A pair of Gold Weekend Packages to Creation Entertainment’s 3^rd Annual Firefly & Serenity convention this November in Los Angeles, CA, donated by Creation Entertainment.
• A voice acting role for ‘Firefly Between The Lines’, donated by Between the Lines Studios
• A Dollhouse poster signed by Joss Whedon, donated by Buffyfest
• Two part prize donated by The Kids Need to Read Foundation (KNTR) (and an amazing anonymous angel)
• A pair of tickets to Browncoat Ball 2009, donated by the Browncoat Ball 2009 organizers
• A Super Secret Basket of Firefly and Serenity goodies worth over 250 credits, donated by the Austin Browncoats

Door Prizes

A variety of Door Prizes will be given out prior to the screening of the film.   Every attendee will receive one (1) door prize ticket.  Additional tickets may be purchased at the event to increase your chances.

Current door prizes include:

• DVDs of the TV series “Mutant X”
• DVDs of the TV series “Farscape”
• $10 Gift card to Mars Cafe in Des Moines

Silent Auction Items

We originally intended on doing a weighted auction for several items, but a normal silent auction seems like the way to go.    Here are some of the silent auction items we will have available:

Lars Pearson Power Pack

Copies of local author Lars Pearson’s popular books “Redeemed” and “Dusted” detailing the Angel and Buffy universe.  Redeemed is currently out-of-print, so this is your chance to acquire it, support CSTS, and possibly meet the author as well!

Bobble Head Geisha Doll

We are told that Sarah Edwards of MiddyPuppy.com is not only supplying several of these to Can’t Stop the Serenity events around the country, but she is actually attending the Des Moines screening!  These bobble heads are hand-made and super-shiny.   Be sure to thank Sarah for donating them when you see her!

Signed Poster by Joss Whedon

Wow!   We can’t believe this!  This is a signed Serenity mini-poster (11×17) by the man himself – Joss Whedon!  We are sure this poster will be a hit at the silent auction!  This item will be framed in all its glory to protect it on the way home!

Browncoat Jewelry Set

This special jewelry set will not be found at any other CSTS event!  This set includes Browncoat Earrings from JLH Jewelry, a Serenity charm from Dragonweave Jewelry and a special Browncoat jewelry box curteosy of the Charlotte, NC Browncoats!

This wonderful tea was blended by Elizabeth Nelson and Tanya Laird of the Austin Browncoats especially for Can’t Stop the Serenity.

Autographed Bedlam Bards CD

Bedlam Bards are a musical duo (and occasional trio) who’s style of “Renfolk Music” is unique blend of Celtic, English, Scandinavian, and American folk music mixed in with period tunes from the Renaissance and Middle Ages that rubs shoulders with the occasional incognito rock song at most Renaissance festivals. Bedlam Bards have generously donated autographed copies of their “On the Drift: Music Inspired by Firefly and Serenity“ CD, a musical homage to the brilliance of film and television writer Joss Whedon.
